Celebrating the Successful Election of the Somali Plantation and Agriculture Workers Union (SPAWU)

Dear Members and Supporters of SPAWU,

We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the election for the Somali Plantation and Agriculture Workers Union (SPAWU). This milestone is a testament to our shared commitment to advancing the rights and well-being of plantation and agriculture workers in Somalia.

The election process has been a demonstration of our unity and determination as a collective. Through transparent and democratic proceedings, our members have exercised their right to choose their representatives who will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our union and advocating for our interests.

The newly elected leadership of SPAWU will take on the responsibility of ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, access to healthcare, and educational opportunities for all workers in the plantation and agriculture sectors. They will engage in dialogue with employers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to foster an environment that values the hard work and contributions of every worker.

As we move forward, let us remember that our strength lies in our solidarity. By standing together and supporting our elected representatives, we can overcome challenges, create positive change, and build a brighter future for ourselves and the generations to come.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the candidates who participated in the election, as well as to our members who exercised their right to vote. Your active involvement has been crucial in shaping the course of our union’s journey.

In the coming days, the new leadership will be formulating their plans and strategies. We encourage you to stay engaged, provide your input, and continue to be an integral part of the SPAWU family.

Once again, congratulations to the newly elected leaders of SPAWU. Let us work together to realize our vision of a just, equitable, and prosperous future for all plantation and agriculture workers in Somalia.

In solidarity,

Dr. Mohamed Sheikh Mohamud

Secretary General of SPAWU
